The Story of French Way of Golf

French Way Of Golf was born from a simple conviction: a great golf trip is not just a series of courses and bookings.
Through my own travels, I understood that a truly successful stay depends as much on the quality of the golf as on everything surrounding it: the right location, the right pace, the right choices, the right moments, and that rare feeling of being able to enjoy without having to manage everything.

This is exactly what I wanted to create with FWOG.
A more fluid, more human, more enjoyable way to experience golf, both in France and in selected destinations.

I am (very) active on these social networks…

Who am I?

Passionate golfer since

2017

I am David MELLIAND.

The starting point of this adventure is my desire to spend time around this sport. An individual sport, but so much fun to share with friends.

Sharing

Golf is a game, of course, but it’s also a wonderful excuse to share quality time. I love trips that create real memories, both on and off the course.

01

Pleasure

The pleasure of a golf trip is not just about the scorecard. It’s also about the quality of the location, comfort, pace, and everything that makes a stay truly enjoyable.

02

Escape

Going away for golf means a change of scenery, pace, and atmosphere. It’s about stepping out of daily life to experience something lighter, freer, and more inspiring.

03

Discovery

Each destination has its own personality. My role is to help you discover courses, of course, but also a region, an atmosphere, and a way of experiencing the place differently than a mere visitor.

04

Courses that have a story to tell

I don’t choose a golf course simply because it’s famous or spectacular.
I look for courses with a real personality, a history, a setting, an atmosphere.

For me, a successful trip is not an accumulation of names.
It’s a coherent selection of places that leave a lasting memory, both on the scorecard and in the mind.

Not all courses leave the same impression.

Discovering a destination differently

Golf is a beautiful gateway to discovering a region.

You see a landscape differently when you traverse it course after course, when you take the time to stop at the right places, when you understand a little better the atmosphere of a place instead of just passing through.

This is also what I love about these trips. Connecting the game to a territory, an atmosphere, a true sense of discovery.

A golf course is sometimes the most beautiful way to enter a place.

A well-chosen table enhances the stay

I believe that a good golf trip also plays out off the course, especially at the dining table.

A simple but perfect lunch, dinner in the right setting, a terrace where you replay the game, a place that has taste without overdoing it. All of this matters.

I never oppose golf to the pleasure of good living. On the contrary, I think they complement each other very well when the trip is thoughtfully constructed.

The best memories don’t stop at the 18th hole.

Wine, when appropriate

Some wines from our regions are world-renowned. Others are more confidential but worth discovering!

The pleasure of discovering a beautiful cellar or a local wine is one of those moments that extend the day in a different way. Just like a good cheese.
Without overdoing it, these small experiences often give the stay its true flavor.

Some regions are also discovered through a glass.

The joy of playing together

Many great golf memories don’t just come from a score or a successful shot.

They come from the group, the exchanges, the friendly rivalries, the moments shared before, during, and after the game.

That’s why I particularly enjoy trips in small groups. They allow for maintaining that closeness, conviviality, and the simple pleasure of playing together in an inspiring setting.

Golf takes on a different flavor when shared.

Let’s talk about your next golf experience.

You have questions, we have the answers

1. What exactly does French Way Of Golf organise?2025-08-11T20:13:31+02:00

French Way Of Golf designs tailor-made golf trips in France and in selected destinations abroad. The aim is not just to book a hotel and golf courses, but to build a coherent, seamless and enjoyable journey from start to finish.

2. Do you offer custom trips or fixed-date tours?2025-08-11T20:12:46+02:00

The majority of FWOG trips are custom-made. Certain trips may also be offered on specific dates, particularly for high-demand destinations or escorted tours.

3. Who are your trips for?2025-08-11T20:11:55+02:00

FWOG is for golfers who want to travel in great conditions, with a well-run organization, without having to manage everything themselves. This may include groups of friends, couples, families, French or international clients.

4. Do you accompany your clients on site?2025-08-11T20:11:14+02:00

Yes, depending on the type of trip. David Melliand can accompany his clients on site, play some rounds with them, streamline transfers, and ensure the trip runs smoothly. This is one of FWOG’s distinguishing features.

5. How is a trip organized?2025-08-11T20:10:14+02:00

It all begins with a conversation to understand your project: destination, dates, number of travelers, budget, comfort level, and expectations. FWOG then builds a tailored proposal, which can be adjusted before confirmation.

6. What can a FWOG trip include?2025-08-11T20:08:56+02:00

Depending on the case, a FWOG trip can include accommodation, green fees, golf tee times, transfers, certain restaurant reservations, additional activities, and on-site support. Everything that is included is always clearly specified in the quote or itinerary.

7. What is not included by default?2025-08-11T19:00:05+02:00

Unless otherwise stated, flights, insurance, personal expenses, unplanned meals, equipment rental, and services not listed in the quote remain the client’s responsibility. The aim is to be clear from the outset.

8. Do you also handle golf logistics and transfers?2025-08-11T18:00:37+02:00

Yes. FWOG also organizes the practical aspects of your trip: course order, travel times, tee times, coordination between accommodations and golf courses, airport transfers, and local transportation.

9. Do you need a certain golf level to travel with FWOG?2025-08-11T17:00:28+02:00

No. FWOG is not only for high-level players. Each trip is designed around the group’s level, preferences, and pace.

10. Can non-golfers join the trip?2025-08-11T16:00:57+02:00

Yes, of course. FWOG can design trips tailored to couples, families, or groups where not everyone plays, with activities and free time planned for each person.

11. How do booking and payment work?2025-08-11T15:01:28+02:00

Unless otherwise specified, the booking is confirmed upon receipt of a 50% deposit of the total trip amount. The balance is then paid no later than 90 days before the start of the trip. Certain trips, such as St Andrews, may require full payment upon booking. This is always specified in advance on the offer and quote.

12. What are your cancellation and refund conditions?2025-08-11T10:02:03+02:00

Unless specific conditions are stated in advance:

  • more than 90 days before departure: 100% refund of amounts paid, minus €100 in administration fees
  • between 60 and 90 days before departure: 50% refund of amounts paid
  • less than 60 days before departure: no refund

For certain stays paid in full at the time of booking, such as St Andrews, these same conditions apply unless otherwise stated.
